Silence again

Twas the night before work and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse (well maybe a chicken...)
The children were tucked up all tight in their tent
Waiting for Daddy to come and ... okay I'm really pushing it here, aren't I!

Can anyone tell that I am avoiding preparing for a 2 day "Leadership" camp that I have to run for a group of international students this weekend?
For some reason the children decided that they wanted to go camping tonight and for some unknown reason my husband agreed it was a great idea and so they put up the tent, got all their sleeping bags etc. and are now tucked up tight in the tent...... in our garden. Our family is so adventurous!!! They think it is great fun - although my husband (who always gets the job of sleeping with them) doesn't always find it so fun as it is a very small tent and he has very long legs!
Enough putting my preparation off.... see you again on Monday!

  3. Your children are so lucky. A week ago we had a college graduate who, when I joked about making her sleep in a tent, JUMPED at the chance. It was her first time ever to sleep in a tent (I couldn't believe it), so we walked her to the spookiest shrine we could find and said "see you tomorrow morning. You know where our house is".

She LOVED it, and I was jealous at having to spend my night in a futon at home. She stayed in a tent the next night too.

Everyone should experience at least a few nights in a row in a tent.

  4. Hi Jo,
It's Carmen here, Steve (your Uncle) Bedford's partner. Have been meaning to post you for some time to thank you for the clothes that Jude passed on from Emily for our daughter Lucea. We had another daughter in January and have named her Grace. She's just as gorgeous as her big sister - I didn't think it possible, but it is.
Ede is very proud of you and I have read this site on occasion up at her house, though not so much recently as have been extremely busy with baby.
Anyway, thank you so much for the clothes (Lucea wears the pretty pink dress with the lace frills as a princess dress-up nearly every day and loves to dance around in it as it has an almighty swirl!)
I will check in again soon. You have a gorgeous family - aren't the kids cute. We often take our girls camping as well - I think they appreciate the movement of the tent, the shadows, the excitement and adventure etc.
    Steve says hi to everyone.
    Much love xxxxx

  5. I need a tent and sleeping bags me thinks. Sounds like a good way to get a night of mummy time. A few years off perhaps though.

Am around all Monday and Tuesday - at home translating all day. Will be good to be able to procrastinate. Hope you can make it.
